Hello there! I’m Mark. Welcome to the Get Noticed blog.
This month, I’ll be talking about a service that I’m extremely excited about. And the service is… Brochure-style websites! *klaxon sounds and balloons fall from the ceiling* But what are brochure-style websites, I hear you ask? Well no worries, I’m here to talk you through why they’re the best way to create visually stunning websites that can help get you and your business noticed online. Let’s begin, shall we? No Limitations on Design and Layout
With brochure-style websites, there are no limits when it comes to design and layout, which is a far-cry from standard website builders out there.
As a graphic design expert, I absolutely love this feature and you should too. This is because it allows me to create truly unique, bespoke, and beautifully designed websites that will help set your business apart from your competition. It ultimately means pixel-perfection with your website, which helps you get noticed online which leads to more eyes on your site, more clicks, and inevitably, more sales. Fonts, Fonts, and More Fonts
With my stunning brochure-style websites, I have access to hundreds of free, open-source Google fonts to play with. This means bringing your brand to life in a way that suits your ethos and audience, with memorable and relevant font selections.
All of this leads to boosted brand consistency and versatility, which is a must-have in today’s ultra-competitive online marketplace. Customised Videos
Unlike many other site-builders out there, I can add in videos of your choice with no limits on the viewing experience. This means full video customisation to suit your requirements, which boosts your user experience and builds trust in your brand.
It’s not all about looking great though, in fact, a study conducted by SmallBizTrends tells us that companies who use video on their sites enjoy a massive 41% more web traffic from search engines than non-users. This is a staggering statistic and could be the difference between users choosing your business over another. Fantastic Articles and Parallax Scrolling Animations
As well as video, I can also provide a range of animations on your website design within my brochure-style websites. This means adding another level of graphic design to your online presence which helps you stand out from the crowd in a big way.
And when it comes to the written word, I’m also able to create repetitive based elements for your site, including blog posts, product collections, news feeds, and much, much more. Simple Content Management and a Secured Network
Control is everything, and I provide an easy to use content management system which makes updating your website simple and quick. This means you can jump on any required changes instantly, which is not the case for many other site-builders out there.
I also provide a secured network, with an enterprise-level database security system across your entire hosting network. This helps prevent hackers from disrupting your website services which is vital for any business operating in any way online. Automatic Backups and Worldwide Servers Network
Backups are hugely important in today’s digital world, but luckily for you I can ensure your website data is always available thanks to the safe and secure backups provided with my brochure-style websites.
As well as this, the system duplicates your website and places it on worldwide services. This means it can always be reached from the closest server which means quicker speeds and response times for your site. And in a world where 53% of consumers won’t wait more than three seconds for a website to load before abandoning it, speed has never been more important. Powerful Google Cloud Hosting
And finally, with my brochure-style website packages, you can enjoy advanced cloud hosting with an infrastructure that is monitored 24/7.
This feature promises that your site will be live and secured even during the biggest traffic storms. It does this by using the most stable, quickest, and most reliable servers known to man. So, you have that added peace of mind around security and your online presence, and you don’t have to worry about a thing other than running your business. Get in Touch

BY ERNA CLAYTONGuest Author Brand plays a vital role everywhere, from the food industry to mobile development applications. Why is brand identity is so important? Let me answer this in brief, brand identity represents the company or organisations perceptions to attract the customers. A brand identity consists of major elements like visuals, product or service name, customer and prospect interactions, and language. Today we are going to discuss elements of brand identity and factors that every business should follow while building their own identity. For example you can take android tablets for design and drawing; we know that android is a brand that offers various products and devices. To know more about brand identity, read the article completely.
What do you mean by brand identity? Brand identity is the visible elements of a brand, such as colour, design and a logo that identifies and distinguishes the brand in consumers' minds. Some of the important factors that matter in brand identity:
How to build an effective brand identity? As I said earlier, a brand identity is a collection of elements that create their own brand image. Brand elements are mandatory to build a company’s mission, long term goals, brand value and competitive positions in the market. Below are the foundations of any brand identity:
Start with a brand name: This is the foremost and more important brand element; A brand name forms memories and associations stored in the audiences mind. Here the language is used for better communication and understanding the brand intrinsic. The specific words and brand name allows us to connect with meanings, emotions, events, and association to objects. The common features of any good brand name are:
Don’t assume that it’s an easy task and you should ideally consult experts but please keep in mind that no two companies are alike, and so it’s important to set your expectations and priorities in a specific brief. Make sure your brand is unique, congruent, and honest: Brand identity is a type of tool that helps to convey a message about a company and its products or service. Many businesses fail to convey the right message, product values, and services to the end user. Always remember that good communication can be achieved by using distinct and recognisable images while creating your brand identity. These two factors are mandatory and brand identities have the ability to provide a company presentation, and customer prospective. Your brand tells your customers about how different your products are and why customers should try your products or services. You should follow a few rules while creating a brand identity, they are;
Welcome to the Get Noticed blog! This month, I’m going tell you all about one of the most important pieces of physical materials for established businesses, particularly those with stakeholders. I am of course talking about the annual report, which might sound like a boring item, but it absolutely does not need to be. With more uncertainty than ever and increased competition across the business landscape, it’s important that your company sets itself apart from the others in your field. This is something you can achieve with a pitch perfect annual report. Every little helps, and a fantastically designed, easy to read, and visually appealing annual report is a brilliant way to get ahead of the game and prove your worth to customers and stakeholders alike. Annual Reports During COVID – More Important Than EverIn a year that has seen a massive socio-economic change, mostly for the worst, it has become ever more important to share achievements and future goals with your customers and stakeholders. There’s a lot of uncertainty in the world right now and it’s affecting businesses in profound ways, so you need to ensure that certain minds are at ease and they know they’re in safe hands. This, obviously, comes with facts and figures, as well as plans for the future. But it’s always a good idea to add a level of professionalism to your annual reports with something that is great to look at and made of high quality materials. This helps give you that extra boost when it comes to speaking to those who matter most within your business. Annual Reports and Brochures with Get Noticed BrandingAs you probably know, I’m incredibly experienced in the branding game and have an abundance of knowledge and happy customers to show for it. I also have a newly released, 2021 Get Noticed Print Catalogue, which features design and print options for a huge range of branded products, including annual reports. When it comes to annual reports and brochures, I provide five different choices for my highly valued clients. I also have a wide array of high-quality paper stocks and finishes available, which enables you to bring your annual report to life and stimulate curiosity with a compelling and professional handout. Let’s take a look at the different kinds of reports I have available to design and print; Perfect Bound Perfect bound reports are, as you’d expect, pretty much the perfect report option. They come in booklet form and feature a glued spine, which makes them the ideal choice for reports with heavier paper stocks and higher page counts. These are therefore the premier choice for more thorough annual reports with lots of information on the past year as well as plans for the future, which is increasingly important thanks to COVID. Saddle Stitched Reports The saddle stitched report is ideal for conveying exciting messages in a professional and easy-to-read format. Perfect for lower page counts, this binding option is generally used for smaller reports and those working to a tighter budget. This is because saddle stitched booklets are the most affordable binding option I provide, but this doesn’t mean skimping on quality, as they come in uncoated, gloss or silk. I also have custom sizes available up to A4 and up to 68 pages. Wiro Bound Reports Again, coming in uncoated, gloss or silk, the wiro bound reports can accommodate up to 482 pages. This binding method allows pages to lie flat, making them perfect for easy reading. Available in sizes from A6 to A3 and with the option to have an acetate cover, the wiro bound report adds a flawless finishing touch to any business documentation, including annual reports. Spot UV Reports Get creative and help get your report noticed by adding Spot UV on the cover. This is a unique provision of something that really stands out from the crowd and is sure to wow your customers and stakeholders. Essentially, Spot UV is a clear shiny gloss varnish designed to enhance areas of your design. It looks absolutely fantastic and will make your brochure very hard to miss as well as memorable. I love speaking to new clients, so get in touch and let’s get you noticed today. In this month’s blog we’ll be taking a look at a staple piece of kit for any business, and a highly customisable product that has much more to it than meets the eye. Of course, we are talking about the mighty business card! Never underestimate the mighty business card, as they have a multitude of uses and are much more than the simple, plain, boring old rectangular piece of paper. They can help your business in a number of ways, from increasing brand exposure to building on customer relationships, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Let’s search for some inspiration and fresh business card ideas along with some top tips from yours truly. Beginning with thank you cards, which are one of my favourites and something I love creating. Thank you Cards and Loyalty Cards As you know, a simple thank you can go a long way. But I’m not just talking about politeness. It can also set you apart as a business and helps you add that level of personalisation to your products and friendliness for your brand. It can make your brand seem more reputable and trustworthy, and also shows a great attention to detail and care for the work you carry out. Try something unique with your thank you cards with the Get Noticed Textured Business Cards, ideal for placing in packaging when selling products. They add that element of character to your products and will help you stick in the minds of customers, encouraging them to come back for more. Thank You Cards Top Tip: Offer an incentive for repeat business. Whether it’s loyalty bonuses or a discount for coming back, provide a reason for using your services and do so in a stylish way with a thank you card. Magnetic Promotional Cards Promotional cards are a fantastic way of promoting your brand and can help set you apart from the competition and really get you noticed. They can act as a memorable and fun way of advertising a product, event, or service, and they certainly stick in the minds of customers far and wide. This helps boost brand recognition and likelihood of customers purchasing from you, it also helps to present your brand in a way that suits your personality and business ethos. A fantastic idea for the style of promotional cards is to really help your message stick with Magnetic Business Cards. Offering a little something different, these can create a lasting impression and keep you in your customers minds for future purchases. Promotional Cards Top Tip: Display your most important contact details on the promotional card. If you prefer a phone call over email for example make sure that’s prominent, or vice versa. Instruction Cards If your business or products sometimes needs a bit of explaining, instruction cards are a brilliant way of getting a message across in a simple, straightforward, and visually appealing way. Creative Business Cards are therefore great for creating a step-by-step guide if you have special products that require it. Examples of these kinds of products and businesses include planting, recipes, as well as things like craft making. But don’t get too bogged down in the details, make sure the card looks visually appealing and features consistent branding. This helps you stick in your customers minds and helps you stay ahead of the pack. It’s also important that the steps are simple to follow and well-presented, so people don’t get bored and confused. Instruction Cards Top Tip: Use 1-2 fonts to create clear, precise, and easy to read writing. This helps people stay interested and increases the value they place on your brand. Jewellery Cards Jewellery cards are an excellent way to promote your brand within the packaging of your products.
A great example of the style of card to use for this purpose would be the eco-friendly, 350gsm Recycled Business Card. This adds in that level of care towards the environment which is a big box ticked in today’s world. Match the beauty of your jewellery to the beauty of the card, and keep branding consistent and attractive, in line with your brand’s personality. Jewellery Cards Top Tip: Personalise your jewellery cards with your business logo and contact details. This makes it easier for people to get in touch and most importantly, make more purchases! Get in Touch Today So, are you feeling ready to unleash your creative side and make your brand more memorable? Let’s get to work. I love working on business card designs for my clients and as well as the actual design of the card, I can also arrange printing to a number of different specifications and for a range of different purposes. Drop me an email at [email protected] and let’s help your business get noticed with a bespoke, unique, brilliant business card design. More than ever, people are going into business for themselves thanks to lockdown and the resulting popularity of working from home. But before you jump into the world of business, you need a professional logo that sets you apart from the competition and helps you get noticed in a busy marketplace. You need consistent branding that matches your brand values, and a logo that provides an air of professionalism that will lure customers in to buying your products and using your services. Need more convincing? Let’s take a look at the top 5 reasons for professional logo design to help you make your decision. Starting with first impressions... First Impressions Matter A strong logo gives customers a first impression they’ll remember. It takes 0.05 seconds for people to form an opinion on a brand (8ways, 2019), so you need a logo that communicates your company’s personality and ethos visually and in an instantly memorable way. Creating a strong first impression is one of your logos primary jobs and if done right, customers are much more likely to come to you for your services because they trust you, which brings us on to our next point. Trust Trust is becoming more and more important in the modern world, with a massive 80% of consumers saying they need to be able to trust a brand to buy from them. (Edelman, 2019) Trust also encourages loyalty over the long run which means repeat customers, which is vital for any business to survive. So, if you start with a logo and consistent branding that speaks to your customers and sets you apart from the competition, you’ve got an incredibly strong platform to build from. Brand Recognition and Loyalty The biggest brands in the world have a logo that you immediately think of when you think of the company. Think about the golden arches of McDonalds or the Nike swoosh. These icons are synonymous with the businesses they represent, and you can instantly match the logo with the brand without giving it a second thought... Your logo needs to do the same for your business, even if you aren’t reaching the dizzying heights of world domination that Nike and McDonalds have. Your branding needs to reflect your brand’s personality, so it can be instantly recognised, encourage loyalty, and inspire repeat purchases in the future. Communicate Your Brand’s Personality Whatever it is you do, your business needs to have its own personality that you can get across to your customers. Whether it’s fun, youthful and vibrant or corporate, level-headed and experienced, your brand identity, particularly the logo, needs to reflect this. The logo’s colour, style, shapes, and letters all help communicate your brand’s personality, and can all contribute to the kinds of customers you attract. Take a look at the Yorkshire Meat logo I created below. By using butchers knives to replace the letter ‘A’, it cleverly communicates what it is the brand does, with the gold colouring connoting high quality which is what they stand for. t’s nifty tricks like this that help your brand get noticed, and help you portray your brand’s personality and ethos.
Stand Out from the Crowd And finally, a strong logo helps you stand out from the crowd. This means elevating your business and helping you get noticed by rising above your competition. A well-designed, well thought-out logo does this for you, and goes a long way to establishing your brand as reputable and trustworthy. This inevitably leads to more interest, enquiries, and sales for your business. People want to use services and buy products from a brand they understand and one that they feel speaks to them. If your logo reflects your philosophy in an eye-catching and attractive way, you’re much more likely to achieve this goal, attracting customers and keeping them for years to come in the process. Get in Touch and Get Noticed Picking the right kind of logo is difficult unless you use an expert. Luckily for you, that’s exactly what I am and with years of experience in the industry, I know what works and what doesn’t. I understand what makes a logo flourish, from using the correct amount of white space, mascots, typefaces, or abstract marks, as well as the consistency and versatility required to make it work across multiple platforms and for different purposes. I’ve created brand identities and logos for brands across the North East and all over the country, and love helping out smaller, local businesses get started. Client: ParcMed are a sub-brand of a Leeds-based client of mine: Parc Group, who I’ve been working with since 2015. Who better than the CEO of Parc Group, Kyle Mclean, to tell us a little more: “ParcMed was borne out of a passion and vision to provide vital support with general supplies including PPE and equipment primarily to the Healthcare industry and Frontline Professionals.” What They Asked For: They needed a sub-brand identity and logo creating, following some of the same brand guidelines of their parent company Parc Supplies. 🏥 This included two packaging designs and two flyer designs, as well as the logo and brand identity. 👌 So naturally, they came to me! 😁 What I Did: I created the below, combining the same fonts and icons I’d previously used for Parc Supplies for consistency across the companies. 👍 Working to the ParcMed brief and adding my own creative flair, I created packaging and flyers that were both fit for purpose and eye-catching at the same time. 🤗 The client was really happy with the result, and I was more than happy to do my bit and help an organisation providing supplies to NHS staff. "The branding has assisted Parc in becoming one of the UK’s leading suppliers of single-use PPE items. For full details on what Parc can offer, contact [email protected]." Please get in touch today and let me know how I did.

It’s been unpredictable to say the least, so we can only hope that 2021 offers some stability for businesses and people around the country, and indeed the world.
So, let’s say goodbye to 2020 and look forward to 2021, and what better way to greet the new year than to look ahead at some new design trends. That’s exactly what I’ve done with this month’s blog – got my crystal ball out and taken a look at some of the top trends that look set to dominate the graphic design world in the coming year. Let’s start with colour tones… 1. Muted, relaxed colour tones and palettes Bright, bold colours look to take somewhat of a backseat in 2021, with muted tones and low saturation looking to make an impact. We’ve already seen this trend pop up throughout 2020 everywhere from fashion to business branding, and it only looks to continue as we head into the new year. Perhaps it’s down to the craziness of 2020, and everybody just feels the need to sit back and relax, rather than being bombarded with too much sensory overload. To be fair, it has been quite a long, tiring year, so it kind of makes sense. 2. Simplified, Visual Data Infographics have been popular in recent years, and this trend looks set to continue into 2021. Everything is digitalised and quantified in today’s world, and consumers need a simple and easy way to digest information. This, partnered with the need to stand out among a crowded marketplace, means that infographics and well-represented data will be a top priority for brands in 2021. This will come in the form of video and static graphics, and will help brands communicate complex figures in a simple way to consumers. 3. Classic, Serif Fonts Serif fonts date back 5 centuries, and are often seen as classic, elegant, and simple. Following in the same vein as simplified, easy to read infographics and muted colours, next year is set to be a year of understated grace, rather than anything overly loud or bombastic. Again, I think this is somewhat down to the fact that this year has been so crazy, that 2021 is going to be a bit like a hangover Sunday. All anyone wants to do is sit back and relax while we try and forget everything that went on last night, or in our case, last year! 4. Text-Heavy Videos Videos are huge in today’s digital world, especially with the ever-growing popularity of social media and smart phone users. Almost all videos you see online include subtitles of some kind today, so a key feature of 2021’s video landscape is set to be focussed around bringing these words to life in a more visually appealing way. Text-based videos are also much easier to create and since working remotely is a trend that looks set to become somewhat of the norm, many videographers will be offering text-based videos for the benefit of the consumer. The fact that they won’t be able to leave the house to film as much as they might have previously might also play a part. Attractive text vids, like infographics, are also a great way of presenting information in a simple and effective way, so look set to be huge in 2021. 5. Animated Imagery Attention spans have never been shorter, especially in this period of instant gratification and a generation’s obsession with Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok, particularly for younger consumers. Every generation seems to lose a few seconds of attention span, and this means that if you want to make an impact in 2021, you have to get to the point, and fast. This means merging video and imagery with animated text and simple illustrations. Animations that capture the attention are more likely to stick in your consumers’ minds, and if you can make them last around 15 seconds for Instagram and all other platforms, and get across all the information you need – even better. Get in Touch to Get Noticed I provide a huge range of graphic design services and have been doing so for 18 years. It’s therefore difficult to stand out unless you’ve got a professionally designed website that looks the part, ranks highly with search engines, and is optimised across all platforms. With this in mind, I’ve decided to compile a quick, handy list of the top 5 benefits of high quality web design and why it’s important for any business, no matter the size. Let’s dive in with a look at page speed, and how a faster website can maximise revenue for your business. 1. Faster website = more sales It sounds simple, and to be honest, that’s because it is. If you want to increase clicks, enquiries, and sales for your business, then you not only need a responsive website that’s optimised across all devices, but a website that loads quickly. The reason being that in today’s world, expectations are pretty high when it comes to page speed. In fact, 47% of internet users now expect websites to load in under 2 seconds, and 40% will abandon a website if it doesn’t load entirely in 3 seconds. It’s just the way of the world, and the highest performing businesses have quick websites, so you should too. 2. First Impressions Matter You only get one shot at a first impression, so you best make it count. Research has shown that 94% of consumers’ first impressions relate directly to the design and visual aesthetic of your website. This is an enormous percentage of people judging you on a purely visual basis. That’s why, alongside a quick and responsive site, your website needs to look good, with memorable, unique graphic design from the logo all the way through to the fonts. This is a vital aspect of web design and involves creating attractive and consistent branding across all pages and high-quality imagery to ensure that people’s eyes are satisfied. Attractiveness establishes a bond between you and your customers and shows you’re reputable and trustworthy, which in turn leads to more sales for your business. 3. SEO Optimisation Google essentially runs the digital world, whether we like it or not, so you better do your best to keep them happy. There are countless reasons for having strong SEO optimisation within your web design, but the key explanation is simple: The higher you rank, the higher chance you have of people giving you a click. With around 92% of people never venturing past the first page of Google, it’s incredibly important that you rank as highly as possible to give you the best chance to prosper online and keep your competition at bay. Associating yourself with the biggest brand on the planet also helps establish trust in your business in the eye of consumers, and makes them much more likely to not only make a purchase now, but keep coming back for more in the future. 4. Responsive and Optimised Across All Devices If you hadn’t noticed, people use mobile phones… a lot. And it’s not a case of simply ringing or texting taking up the majority of people’s time on their devices. The bulk of people use a smartphone every single day which means emailing, social media and of course, browsing the internet and making purchases online. As a matter of fact, 79% of people in the UK use a smart phone for internet use, so if your web design doesn’t include optimisation across all platforms, then you’re not going to be trusted or visited by a huge number of potential customers. 5. Trust Last but not least is the golden thread throughout this piece, and that is trust. With more and more focus on ethics with the consumer of today, it’s crucial that businesses establish trust with their customer-base. 81% of consumers say the need to trust a brand before they buy from them, so you don’t want to miss out on this batch of customers with a poorly designed website that isn’t optimised across all devices and search engines. Get in touch with Get Noticed today to discuss your web design requirements and see how I can help. I offer a range of website design packages to the North East and around the UK, and can ensure that you make the most of your online presence with a beautiful website that looks its best and performs strongly across the board.
